Community Information
Conshohocken, PA
Conshohocken is a city of about 8000 people located just
northwest of Philadelphia, on the Schuylkill River. Most
families have been in Conshohocken for generations. Like
most industrial towns, Conshohocken began attracting
immigrants who moved in for the jobs.
Urban redevelopment began in 1974 with a 5.6 million
dollar grant from the government. The borough began buying
local real estate and building more office buildings.
The borough leaders saw Conshohocken 's future as home
to new professional industries. The first of the Tower
Office Buildings along the Schuylkill was completed in
1983. The Blue Route (Route 476) also connect Conshohocken
with both Route 76 and the PA Turnpike, which makes it
ideally located.
With the continued development of new businesses along
the Schuylkill and new parking structures, Conshohocken
has never been more prosperous. Conshohocken has the
best of both worlds-great economic opportunity and a
small town community.
Conshohocken is about a 30-minute drive to Center City
Philadelphia, and the commute from Conshohocken to and
from Center City Philadelphia (Suburban Station) via
Septa’s R6 Norristown Regional Rail train is about
35 minutes.
